Publishing files or folders on Permanent.org

How to Publish a File or Folder

Publishing a file or folder creates a publicly viewable copy of the item in your Public workspace.

To publish a file, select the file or folder you wish to publish in your My Files Workspace by clicking it once to highlight it.

Click the "Publish" button on the toolbar at the top of the screen. A dialog box will appear that asks you to confirm that you wish to publish the item.

Once you publish an item, we make a copy of it in your Public Workspace of your Permanent Archive. You can manage your new publicly shared files in your Public Workspace. Files and folders in your Public Workspace are featured in your Public Archive and are publicly viewable on the internet.

Please note that files that you publish from your My Files Workspace will exist in both your My Files Workspace and your Public Workspace. This means that each copy of the file goes towards your total storage count. If you wish to only have one copy of the file, you should move that file from your My Files Workspace to your Public Workspace.
