You have been designated as your loved one's legacy contact. A legacy contact is the person who is in charge of notifying Permanent.org of your loved one's passing or permanent incapacitation. Once Permanent.org is notified of your loved one's passing, we will enact the legacy plan they have set up in their account for their archives.
You should have received an email notifying you that you have been designated as your loved one's legacy contact. Please save this email so you can refer back to it when the time comes to act in your role as a legacy contact.
As a legacy contact, your responsibility is to contact Permanent.org when your loved one has passed or become permanently incapacitated. To do this, please reach out to email@example.com
with the name of your loved one. You may be asked for the following information to confirm your loved one's passing and information on Permanent.org:
- your loved one's full name
- your full name and your email address
- your loved one's email address
- documentation of your loved one's passing, such as an obituary or a death certificate
